Whats Goin On

Sorry we have been out of touch for so long. We have been very busy with work and our new lives here! Things are going very well.
At school, the current semester is ending, so everyone is busy with tests and evaluations. To describe our job, from 2-9 we teach 2-4 classes. We teach classes like pronuniciation, speaking, listening, discussion, business English, and general knowledge. The is one of these classes for each level: low, mid, high. For core classes, there is a consistent teacher, book, and set students you are with for the whole semester. We havent had a core class, but we are looking forward to them because you get to know a group of students and teach them consistently all semester until they move up a level. I (Emily) have been working with the kids program which has kids ages 6-12 for Saturdays and Sundays. I actually have been promoted to Head Childrens Teacher which means I am in charge of the 3 other kids teachers, the crafts, cooking projects, activities, field trips, and this week parent/teacher conferences. The teaching has been the biggest challenge in the kids department but it gets better every week. Plus, I got a raise :)
Otherwise, we are having a lot of fun with our friends, seeing places around the city and keeping busy. We have joined a gym, been cooking, Elliott plays neighborhood basketball as much as possible. In two weeks, for fall break, we are going to QuinDao on the coast with a lot of our friends which should be fun.
Beijing is getting back to "normal" slowly after the Olympics. Its a little smoggier, but the fall is the best time of year here, as it's mild and pleasant for just a bit. We havent had any problems with the internet, but the ban might be in force again soon, so we'll see what happens.
Here are some pictures from the past few weeks--Enjoy!
